At Red Wagon Tutors, I work one-on-one with struggling students in Grades K-3. I have helped students who were 2 to 3 years behind in their reading catch up to – and in some cases surpass – their peers. I also enjoy helping gifted students challenge themselves.
Before starting Red Wagon Tutors, I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for over 10 years at PS 20 in Manhattan, and was a NYC DOE Reading Intervention Specialist at various public schools for over 15 years.

Terri is fantastic! She has been providing enrichment to our two children (kindergarten and third grade) for four months. Both children are at or slightly above grade-level performance, but, particularly in this hybrid learning environment, we thought that additional one-on-one sessions, focused on reading and writing would benefit their educational development. Terri understands our goals and has been instrumental in driving our children's progress to date. She is always prepared, responsible, and flexible and consistently demonstrates an acute understanding our our children's learning styles and interests.
Our older child has always been an active reader, but, with Terri, my child's reading comprehension is notably stronger. Perhaps most impressive is her progress on writing: she is writing with much more ease, confidence, and skill. Her writing process is more rigorous, efficient, and better defined, and the sophistication of her written product has improved beyond our expectations.
Our younger child's handwriting and reading skills are benefiting significantly from the enrichment with Terri, and she's improved in word formation and sound recognition in particular. Terri's collection of games and books help progress toward learning goals without feeling like "work."
Both children are more confident learners since working with Terri, and we are grateful for her amazing work and look forward to continuing to see our children progress.
